Well Yankee fans - we are one month into the off season and we are in wheeling dealing mode. Lets talk about where we are with 5 months until spring training!
1. There is a NEW Joe in town! I am thrilled with the selection of Joe Giradi as the new skipper. I love Donnie-baseball and have always felt bad for him never seeing World Series action in his time as a Yank or as a coach! Nevertheless, we needed a strategic person had the helm and Joe is the man. Not to mention he is a fabulous Christian who is not afaird to stand up for the Lord.
2. Hip Hip Jorge! Jorge Posada was signed yesterday -- fantastic. With this bullpen filled with young pitching talent, we need the steady veteran running the battery. With him and the Skipper a former catcher, Joba, Hughes and company are going to do damage next year!
3. LET'S GO MO! MAriano Rivera is going shopping this week but i hope he will sign the deal and finish his career with the Bronx Bombers. No Mo is a problem. Joba is good but he is a year or two away from making a big name as a closer, Mariano can really model and shape him!
4. Go after Caberra! The next big move is to land Caberra the Marlins thirdbaseman. He can play the position, he wants to play in NY and he can hit a solid .300. Open the check book!
5. Finally, Go after Johann Santana! Here is a true marque pitcher. He could guarentee you 20 wins. He is the kind of guy that could stop any two or three game losing streak and turn a team around. Petitte is great and we need him, but he is pass the prime of counting on him for a win each time out. Santana could be a gold mine!
