I took a break from blogging and during my absence a couple of things happened that are notable to mention!
EASTER...this was awesome this year! I used to dread holidays, but in the past few years I have really rocked out and seen great things happen. Our Scarlet Steps art exhibit of the life of Christ saw 500+ attend, mostly visitors. Easter was tremendous!
TEA PARTIES…on Tax Day April 15th millions of Americans protested the loss of common sense in Wash DC and the free spending mindset of the administration. I was really encouraged by the response of people – even Lancaster had 400 in pouring rain. I was not surprised by the poor coverage throughout the media. It is now verified that the main stream media is in the tank for Obama and is assisting in his policies that lean towards socialism.
YANKEES…Alex and I got to attend the Opening Day Celebration at the New Stadium. It was sad to walk past the Old Lady of Baseball and then turn the corner and see this unbelieveable granite shrine to the greatest sports team of all history! It was thrilling to be a part of history. The amazing aspect of the day was seeing some 50+ old time Yankees on the field and be able to tell Alex that I saw them play! My mind went back to my dad….as a matter of fact that whole week I thought about him. He would be heart sick to see where our country was going and probably at one of the tea parties. He loved the Yankees and being an ex player would have known many of those on the field. And today he is with the risen Christ – having experienced firsthand “resurrection power’ like never before!
