How did God create everything?

Genesis 1:1 says “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.”1 Colossians 1:15–16 says the same kind of thing about Jesus: “By him all things were created,” and “all things were created through him and for him.”2 Dean Groetzinger also says in “Who Owns What” that God created “everything” and that this kind of creating is “out of nothing.”3 So, from these passages, God created everything as the Creator of all that exists, and it all belongs to him. Notice whether you're looking for an explanation, reassurance, belonging, or permission to keep searching.

“Has a question ever changed how you see something you were sure of?”

Invite a story instead of a position to defend. Give your friend space to say what changed, and what didn't.

“What do you notice in ‘I believe; help my unbelief’?”
